If the Oil takes Murray first, and CBJ doesn't feel comfortable drafting another Russian with a good pick, does that mean Nail is going to Montreal?

richard... brought a tear to my eye... this is the kind of blog that could spur real legitimate conversation instead of homerism and insults... or maybe not... thats part of the fun of all this. I like the oilers / isles trade... don;t know enough about the oilers prospects... what is klefboms potential and would strome / 1st, for klefbom / 1st be legit? or yakupov/klefbom for murray? (or galynckuk reignhart) / strome

Howson would get shot if he passed on Yakupov at number 2.

No it's stupid they would never take murray one. Why do that when you could just trade the pick and move back a few spots to take murray. Theyre just saying this to generate buzz and make the other gms think, it's smart. If they stay at the first pick yakupov Will be the pick guarantee. Mostly like trade back, get something very good in return and then get their guy in Murray.

so lets say the habs want Grigorenko at three, but would rather have Yakupov at one by trading up (could use The blue jakets here too). so lets say Tambellini called one of these teams up and said this.

"yeah we want Murray and the islanders, you know your conference rival, are
offering a great package to move up. all i need is your word you wont draft
Murray before us ok?"

You honestly think the other teams are gona say sure take the deal! NO WAY! they are going to say "ohh.. ad break we are going to draft Murray too. but if we throw in (?) with our pick will you give us first overall?

Montreal looks set on one of those centers, but Columbus is a question mark, if Tambellini wants to trade down and get Murray safely, one spot is as safe as it gets!

If they think Murray is the better player for them, than no its not stupid. It would only be stupid if they didn't play their cards right and try to get a second asset as well as their man. a columbus swap? at least they should try to get columbus 2nd rounder back (30 or 31 o0verall... not bad). montreal a swap.. at least their 2nd pick and a b level prospect. what would be interesting is if its the leafs... the 5th pik and one of their d-men? gunnerson or maybe add something small to get shenn back in the deal

It seems like all the trade scenarios are really convoluted and all offer risk to the Oilers at trading down.

Likely scenario could be Oilers taking Yakupov. Then who ever grabs Murray gets offered Yakupov and prospect for Murray and prospect. This way, if they can't swing any deals they still have the best player available in the draft year. Safest bet. Fan base won't lose their minds, hopefully.

Hoping the Habs grab Galy at #3. If he shows the skill and strength they may make him play wing a bit with Pleks, and Gio.

Not possible at all!!!!
the islanders need defense as much as the Oilers, Murry WILL NOT SLIP TO FIVE!
+ to give up on nail Toronto would have to add more than Gunnarsson, Edmonton would want Gardiner

WOW is is all I can say. The Lowe comment is on Oiler's lunch. And there is a Edmonton Journal reporter who has more than once taken quote out of context.
The Exact quote is Ryan Murray is one of the top prospects if not the top. Considering Lowe was talking on the show from Finland, Murray has been a healthy scratch for the last game or two since they brought in more defensive help. Maybe someone should cut out the caffine in their diet whether it be Staples or you my friend. Staples like you is driven by one thing in his blog or his daytime job as a reporter for the business section of the Edmonton Journal is hits online. Now I will just say this If the Oilers want Murray they will get Murray but if they want Yakupov or another player recently upgraded in many sources Galyenchuk(spelling) they will draft them. Funny thing is Tambellinni is strangley quiet on the subject.

By the way Congradulations go out to the Edmonton Oil Kings on winning the WHL championship over Portland tonight Next stop the Memorial cup.

You have written the same thing for the past 2 weeks ...is your life really that pathetic that you gotta continuously write the same blog day after day with the same garbage trade proposals and questioning whether they get Yakupov or Murray??...figure it out bud

The good news is, the draft is still a good five weeks away. Still time for more versions of this blog.

Yes, this is correct. He'll be here for the rookie camp, rookie tournament, regular camp...might even play in a pre-season game or two...and then he's going back to the SEL for the year.

It could be a scary deal for Edmonton if it's 1st overall and Klefbom for Strome and 4th overall. I wouldn't do it. Klefbom is a deadly prospect. I'd be willing to move Marincin because the Oilers might have a better version of Marincin in Martin Gernat, making losing Marincin easier to accept. Plus, if the Oil walk away from draft day with Murray, that's one less hole on the D for the next 15 seasons.

Iwonder what the flames want for Laurent Brossoit since they have Kipper and Irving for the forseeable future?

I wouldn''t give the Flames the hair off my back for any of their prospects.

Beside, Oil already have prospect Bunz, who was the best goalie in the WHL last season.
